Cloudwright is a cozy factory game across a vast sky of floating islands, for 1 to 8 players.

One factory, many islands.

Two factory islands at sunset, linked by four ropeways whose cabins carry ore across the gap while a small airship flies past.

Every island holds something the others don't: ore in the mountains, crystal in the ice, flax on the meadows. Tie it all together with belts, ropeways and airships into one factory where everything feeds everything else.

Crash. Salvage. Build.

Cloudwrights salvage parts from their wrecked airship on a grassy floating island.

It starts with a wreck. Your airship won't fly again, but it's full of parts, and your first mate Mags has seen worse. Little Pip wants to crash again.

  3. Mags: No, Pip, we're not doing that again. Go and have a look around, Skipper.

Automate everything.

A Cloudwright lays a conveyor to an airship dock, then the view pulls back across rows of forges and assemblers to a whole island of factory.

Bore rigs on the ore, kilns and forges down the line, assemblers turning steel into parts. Start with a single conveyor and keep going until whole islands hum.

  1. Pip: It made a plate, Cap'n! A real one!
  2. Mags: Our first plate off this island. Well done, Skipper.

Take to the skies.

A freighter airship is built stage by stage in a shipyard, then flies off over the open sky toward the next island.

Build airships in your own shipyard, from keel to gasbag, and send them flying routes between your islands while you get on with the next thing.

Explore new islands.

An airship lands on a snowy island and the crew put up a beacon; then a volcanic island and a crystal island float in the sky.

Snowfields, volcanoes, crystal islands and old ruins: every horizon hides another island. Some keep caves below, with treasure at the bottom and things that would rather you left.

Meet the people.

A freighter docks at a village island, and at the market stall a Cloudwright trades with the keeper while villagers go about their day.

Villages dot the sky. Trade with them, help with what they need, and find the masters who'll teach your crew steel and glass.

Eight named players build together: five lay a row of kilns while three more work on a farm island.

Up to 8 players in online co-op. Split up across the islands or crowd onto one line together. Someone will rearrange your conveyors.

When can I play?

Is there a demo?

Yes, and it's free on Steam. It takes you from the crash to your first balloon, and your save carries over to the full game.

How many people can play?

One to eight. Play on your own, or bring up to seven friends to your island in online co-op through Steam.

Which languages is it in?

Ten: English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Português (Brasil), Русский, 简体中文, 繁體中文, 日本語, 한국어. All of the game's text is translated, the story included. There's no voice acting.

What does it run on?

Windows and macOS, through Steam. It's a small game that runs on modest computers; the Steam page lists what it needs.
